Hendrik de Boer

Hendrik de Boer (1986) studied 'euphonium' and 'conducting' at the 'Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen. He graduated succesfully from both studies in 2012. During and after his study he followed several masterclasses by Steven Mead, David Childs, Glyn Williams and Jukka Myllys. Nowadays he serves as a professional euphonium player at the 'Royal Military Band 'Johan Willem Friso'. Next to that he is regularly invited as (guest)soloist, as teacher 'low brass' at the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen and is he frequently asked to join some of the leading symphonic orchestra's in the Netherlands.

Hendrik is a 'Besson Euphonium Artist' and plays exclusive on a Besson Prestige Euphonium. As well he is a 'Kurun & Gilbert Artist' and plays exclusive on a Kurun & Gilbert 4D mouthpiece. 

During the last couple of years composing and arranging started to be more and more important as part of Hendrik's musical activities. He has composed and arranged for several prominent artists and ensembles from the Netherlands and also some of his compositions are frequently used as testpiece at major contests in Europe, the U.S.A. and Australia & New Zealand. In 2018 his composition 'Mystic Echoes' was used as set work of the challenge section at the European Brassband Championships and in 2020 his composition 'Signature' will be used as set work for the 2nd section at the Dutch National Brassband Championships.
